KSSSA National Football Pools Set the Stage for Kisii County Clash
The pools for the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) National Football games have been announced, setting the stage for an exciting kickoff in Kisii County on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
In Pool A, Central champions Kirangari will clash with Eastern champions Machakos School, Nyanza champions Koderobara, and Western champions Musingu Boys, promising intense matches from the get-go.
KSSSA National Pool B Pool B will see Northern Eastern winner Takaba Boys going head-to-head with Nairobi champions Highway Secondary, Coastal champions Dr. Aggrey, and St. Joseph from Rift Valley, each team eager to showcase their prowess.
Kirangari Boys Secondary School, hailing from the Central Region, returns to the Nationals following their triumphant appearance in 2023, where they clinched the title by defeating Kiaga Secondary School 4-0 in the finals at Kagumo High School in Nyeri County. This year, they aim to defend their crown as the sole returning team.
Musingu School from Western Kenya, under the leadership of coach Brendan Mwinamo, who previously led Kakamega School to titles in 2017 and 2018, is among the fierce contenders. Musingu Boys reclaimed the Western Schools Regional Boys Football Championship after a 19-year hiatus, narrowly defeating Munyuki Secondary 2-1. The team, captained by Anan Okumu, brother of Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu, faces high expectations despite a controversial semi-final match where fans stormed the field.
