Woman Attempts Suicide From 12-Storey Building
A tense moment gripped Kericho town on Wednesday when a woman climbed to the rooftop of the 12-storey Huduma Centre building and attempted to take her own life. Witnesses watched in shock as the middle-aged woman teetered on the edge, visibly distressed.
Alert members of the public quickly raised the alarm, drawing the attention of police officers stationed within the building. Responding swiftly, the officers rushed to the scene, engaging the woman in conversation to calm her down.
According to witnesses, the woman expressed deep frustration over personal challenges during the heart-wrenching exchange with the officers. After what seemed like a long and emotional dialogue, the woman finally agreed to step down from the building.
She was immediately escorted to Kericho County Referral Hospital, where she will receive counselling and further support. Authorities have urged the public to be vigilant in recognizing signs of distress in individuals and to offer help where needed.
