Woman Arrested in Matungulu After Stealing Sukuma Wiki, Escapes Mob Wrath
A woman from Tala village, Matungulu constituency, narrowly escaped the fury of angry locals after being caught stealing sukuma wiki from a resident’s farm.
The incident occurred on Thursday when the farm’s owner, Jane Kimeu, spotted the woman plucking the vegetables.
Infuriated locals swiftly cornered her, and the situation escalated, leading to a physical confrontation.
According to witnesses, this was not the first time the woman had been caught in the act of theft. Dennis Mutiso, a local resident, expressed the community’s frustration, saying,
“We are fed up with her stealing. People were ready to act, but luckily, the police arrived in time and arrested her before things could spiral out of control.”
The woman was taken to Kya Tala police station, where she is being held in custody.
