Wheelbarrow Of Death in Kisumu as Family Led To Mourning
Grief has struck the family of 23-year-old Edward Otieno Oyuru, who lost his life in a violent altercation over a wheelbarrow in Orongo village, Kisumu County. Edward was reportedly attacked with crude weapons by his alleged assailant, Ford Rakwach, following a heated disagreement.
Kisumu East Sub-County Police Commander Edward Masivo confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect fled the scene and is currently being pursued by law enforcement.
According to initial investigations, the deceased had previously left his wheelbarrow at the suspect’s home after being contracted to assist with house construction. On the fateful weekend, Edward retrieved the wheelbarrow to carry out work in the village, an action that reportedly angered the suspect.
Rakwach allegedly trailed Edward to his home and brutally assaulted him, leaving him with severe head injuries. The victim was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police are urging the suspect to surrender as investigations into the tragic incident continue.
