What A Sad News; Taxi Driver Found Dead Days After Mysterious Disappearance
NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 3 — The search for Victoria Mumbua Muloki, a Mombasa-based taxi driver who went missing after picking up a passenger, has come to a tragic end. On Wednesday, detectives discovered her body at the City Mortuary in Nairobi. This followed the arrest of the prime suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, who was found in possession of Muloki’s vehicle in Nakuru.
Initially, police had reported that the taxi driver was found unconscious in Migori’s Uriri area. However, Muloki’s family disputed this claim, stating that they had not yet been in contact with her. Hours later, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the grim discovery at the morgue.
Preliminary investigations revealed that her body was found in a thicket near a road in Lari, Kiambu County, specifically in the Mai Mahiu area. The police have notified Muloki’s family, and a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.
Police Spokesperson Resila Onyango mentioned that Muloki had not picked up the passenger via a ride-hailing app. Onyango also added that Muloki’s last known communication was from Samburu in Kwale County, where she informed her family of her location.
Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko expressed her sorrow over the tragic incident, calling for justice. “My heart breaks for the senseless murder of Victoria Mumbua Muloki. I call for swift justice for her and her family,” Mboko said. She also stressed the importance of taking action against the rising crime rates in the country.
Muloki’s death has sparked calls for increased security measures to protect citizens, particularly in the transport sector, as the nation mourns the loss of yet another innocent life.
