Village in Shock as Five Relatives Die in One Month Under Mysterious Circumstances
A family in Nyasio, North Mugirango, Nyamira County, is grappling with a series of mysterious deaths, which have shaken their close-knit community to the core. In just one year, six of their relatives have died under suspicious circumstances, with five of these tragedies occurring in the past month alone.
The most recent calamity struck last week when Jane Nyaboke, 67, and her two daughters, aged 39 and 45, disappeared. Their bodies were later found discarded in separate thickets, further fueling fears that the family is being targeted by individuals with sinister intentions.
The string of deaths has cast a dark cloud of fear and grief over the home of Mzee Hamisi, who is once again mourning the loss of his loved ones. With six deaths within a year and no clear answers, the family is left in despair as the village remains in shock, searching for answers to what has now become an unsolvable riddle.
“This past year, six people from this family have died. In just one month, five people have been killed,” said Peter Moturi, a relative. Another grieving family member, Bilhar Kerubo, voiced her frustration, calling for intervention from the authorities. “We plead with the government to help us. People are being killed like chickens.”
Jane Nyaboke and her daughter Edna left home on a routine errand but never returned. The next day, as the family searched for them, they received word that another of Jane’s daughters, Lorna Kerubo, was also missing. The worst was confirmed when all three women were found dead, their bodies discarded in isolated areas. These brutal killings now bring the total number of deaths within the family to five in the span of a month.
Fred, another family member, recounted the events, “My mother and sister left on Monday to visit our grandmother but never made it. Then on Tuesday, Lorna also disappeared, and her body was found the next day.”
As fear and sorrow tighten their grip on this devastated family, relatives are pleading with the police to act swiftly. They believe they may be the targets of a larger, darker scheme and fear more members may be in danger. Abdalla Hamisi, a relative, expressed his frustration with the authorities, stating, “The police are not doing their job. Some people have been killed, and nothing is being done about it.”
The family is calling for expedited investigations, urging the authorities to bring those responsible to justice and put an end to the nightmare that has taken over their lives.
