Two Students Caught with Ksh.690,000 Worth of Bhang on Busia-Nairobi Bus
Busia, Kenya – In a dramatic turn of events, police in Busia County have arrested two high school students for possession of bhang valued at Ksh.690,000.
The offenders, a 17-year-old Form Four student and his 16-year-old Form Three accomplice, were apprehended at the Suo roadblock by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) during a multi-agency operation.
The students had boarded a Guardian Angel bus traveling from Busia to Nairobi when they were intercepted at the roadblock. Acting on a tip-off, the vigilant multi-agency team stationed at Suo conducted a meticulous search of the bus.
Their efforts paid off when they discovered five bales of cannabis, weighing a total of 23 kilograms, cleverly concealed in the students’ bags.
“The street value of the seized cannabis is estimated at Ksh.690,000,” the DCI stated.
The suspects are currently detained at Busia Police Station pending their arraignment in court.
