They Want to Spill My Blood” – Businessman Condemns Harassment

Businessman and Safina Party leader Jimmy Wanjigi has raised concerns over what he perceives as escalating political intimidation and harassment by the Kenya Kwanza administration. This comes after an alarming incident on Saturday night at his Muthaiga residence, where Wanjigi claims police vehicles invaded his property, spilling the blood of an unidentified animal outside his gate.

Wanjigi, visibly disturbed by the event, described it as a direct threat to his life and a blatant act of intimidation. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Wanjigi asserted, “They came here, and you can see the blood that was spilled at my house. These are people who have decided to threaten me again in my home. They are telling me they are going to spill my blood.”

The businessman revealed that he has vacated his Muthaiga residence and taken various evasive actions to ensure his safety in light of the threat. Despite these efforts, he remains defiant, saying, “We are trying to be as evasive as possible, but I want to say this: we are not going to be intimidated, neither me nor my family.”

In addition to the blood-spilling incident, Wanjigi disclosed that communication networks around his residence have been severely jammed, cutting him off from internet and television access. He claimed that a vehicle, suspected to belong to the police, has been parked outside his residence for the past 27 days, disrupting his network connectivity. “For the last 27 days, a vehicle has been outside there. We cannot use the internet; we cannot watch TV, and this is called massive jamming,” Wanjigi lamented.

This disturbing event follows a high court order issued on September 11, which prohibited police from trespassing on Wanjigi’s property. The order came after a petition filed by his wife, Irene Nzisa Wanjigi, who accused the police of unlawfully raiding their home on August 8.

As of now, the National Police Service has not commented on Wanjigi’s claims regarding police surveillance and harassment. Wanjigi has emphasized that these actions are part of a broader effort to silence him amid the country’s ongoing political tensions.
