THE YOUNGEST CS WHO DON’T OWN A CAR
In a surprising revelation before Parliament’s Committee on Appointments, 32-year-old Eric Muriithi Muuga, the youngest nominee for the Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, declared his net worth at Ksh.31 million.
Despite his considerable wealth, Muuga stands out for his unconventional choice of investments.
Muuga, appearing for vetting on Friday, shared that his assets are primarily tied up in farming and land. “My net worth is Ksh.31 million.
I come from a region that is engaged in farming, so I’ve invested in lands and planted crops like tea, coffee, bananas, miraa,” he said, highlighting his deep roots in agribusiness.
When asked by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed if he owned a car, Muuga simply responded, “No.” He explained his decision, saying, “I have chosen to invest instead of buying a car, to start with.”
The young nominee’s stance was further tested by Speaker Moses Wetangula, who inquired if Muuga would accept a car from a major contractor in the water sector if offered one upon his approval and appointment.
Muuga’s response was a resolute “No,” underscoring his commitment to maintaining his principles and focusing on substantial investments.
