The Truth Is Out ; How They Want To Impeach Deputy President
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has fiercely rebuked Members of Parliament (MPs) allegedly scheming to impeach him just two years into his term. Speaking during his visit to Marikiti Market in Nairobi, Gachagua claimed that a group of MPs, whom he labeled as political opponents, have been bribed by powerful figures in government to tarnish his image and orchestrate his removal from office.
“Wananitisha mimi; ati watakusanya wabunge wanifukuze. Wananiuzia uoga ndio wanitoe kwa kiti na waweke kibaraka wao,” Gachagua remarked, accusing the MPs of conspiring to replace him with their own puppet.
Gachagua emphasized that only the people of Kenya, not MPs, have the mandate to remove him from his position, urging those plotting against him to respect the democratic process. “Nilichaguliwa na Wakenya, sikuchaguliwa na wabunge,” he declared, adding that the five-year term he and President William Ruto were elected to serve should be respected.
The Deputy President also condemned the divisive politics being played behind closed doors, warning that such actions could destabilize the country. “Hii Kenya ni yetu na hiyo siasa inaletwa itaharibu nchi yetu. Ni wakati ya kufanya kazi, si wakati ya kupanga siasa kwa mahotelini,” Gachagua warned, challenging his detractors to face him directly in public, rather than through secret hotel meetings.
In his address, Gachagua also took a subtle jab at Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, urging market traders to reflect on their choice for the city’s leadership in the 2027 elections. This came after the traders protested the county’s plans to relocate them to Kangundo Road market, a decision Gachagua opposed, citing the overcrowded conditions of the proposed new site.
A recent exchange on social media between the two leaders heightened tensions, with Governor Sakaja advising the DP to engage him directly instead of airing grievances online—a suggestion that Gachagua did not take kindly to.
Meanwhile, speculations about a possible rift between Gachagua and President William Ruto continue to fuel the impeachment rumors. While the Deputy President has been rallying support in his Mt. Kenya political stronghold, a faction of MPs from the region has shifted allegiance, backing Interior CS Prof. Kithure Kindiki as their preferred political leader

Ruto and Riggy are two opposite kinds of species: while Ruto is trying to unite the country, RG is working on consolidating his Mt. Kenya backyard. This man is a tribalist and sectarianist. His days are numbered.
