Salasya Gives Deadline for Any Women With His Child to Step Forward by Wednesday
Peter Salasya, the Mumias East Member of Parliament, has caused quite a stir with his bold and somewhat controversial appeal on social media. On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Salasya posted a public call on his Instagram, inviting any woman who believes she may have a child with him to bring the child forward by the following Wednesday.
“Any woman who thinks and believes she has my child should bring that child to me by Wednesday next week,” Salasya stated in his post. The unusual request has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the MP’s motives and the appropriateness of such a public appeal.
Salasya, whose personal life has often made headlines, has had a rocky history when it comes to relationships. The lawmaker’s past romantic pursuits have failed to materialize, including his failed attempts to win over high-profile women like socialite Huddah Monroe and content creator Azziad Nasenya. Both women publicly rejected his advances, leaving Salasya to face public scrutiny.
Despite these setbacks, Salasya recently expressed his admiration for the rising content creator Cera Imani, further fueling discussions about his personal life. While the MP’s flirtations on social media have drawn mixed reactions, Salasya defended them in an interview on February 12, 2025, describing his online interactions as harmless fun. He assured his followers that his playful comments should not be taken seriously, stressing that they were simply intended to entertain.
“Iyo ni kiki na mbwembwe. It is good to always have fun. And it’s good to appreciate what God has created for us,” Salasya remarked, brushing off criticism about his social media behavior.
In the same interview, Salasya also addressed his bachelorhood, acknowledging that his demanding role as a Member of Parliament leaves him little time for serious relationships. He reassured his followers that his primary focus remains on his political duties and that he is not actively pursuing romance at the moment.
“Naweza kuwaambia tuendelee kuwa wapole, watulivu. Kwa sababu unaweza kunitamani lakini kunipata ndo shida. Kwa sababu I am too busy. Niko na majukumu kwa sasa,” he explained.
While Salasya encourages young men in his constituency to marry when the time is right, he humorously claimed to be an exception due to his heavy responsibilities as a legislator. The MP further suggested that when the time comes for him to marry, he plans to marry three women, justifying the unconventional idea by noting that there are more women than men in society.
“Niliwaambia vijana kwa constituency yangu ambao wametoshea kuuoa, waoe kwa sababu kila mtu lazima akue na majukumu. Mimi peke yake ndiye nimeruhusiwa kutooa katika eneo bunge la Mumias Mashariki kwa sasa kwa sababu nina majukumu mengi. Ikifika huo wakati wa kuoa, nitaoa wanawake watatu maana wanawake ni wengi kushinda wanaume, kwa sai nina majukumu mengi,” Salasya said with a grin.
In yet another interview, Salasya outlined his ideal partner, revealing that he prefers someone who is ambitious but also open to a more traditional, rural lifestyle. He expressed disinterest in dating women who prefer city life, particularly those from Nairobi. Instead, his friends advised him to consider women in professions like teaching or banking, which they believe would cause him less stress.
Salasya also caused a stir with his candid and controversial views on dating virgins. He confessed that he is not interested in dating virgins, as he considers the responsibility of “breaking their virginity” too burdensome. He jokingly added that if he discovered a woman was a virgin, he would encourage her to experience another relationship before returning to him.
“When I realise she is a virgin I will allow her to go have another man to break her virginity and come back to me. I hate to labour to break a woman for another man hehe…though sisi vienyeji we are better at breaking virgins than born town who are very weak on the bed,” Salasya said, provoking mixed reactions from listeners.
Salasya’s controversial remarks continue to generate a lot of attention, raising questions about his public image and whether his social media antics may overshadow his political career. As his calls for women to come forward with claims of having his child linger, many are left wondering whether his behavior will have lasting effects on his reputation in the political landscape.
