Real Madrid and Liverpool Victorious in Champions League Opener
Bayern Munich set a new record by becoming the first team to score nine goals in a single game in the modern Champions League, marking a stunning start to the revamped tournament.
Harry Kane was unstoppable, netting four goals, including three penalties, as Bayern demolished Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 at the Allianz Arena.
Michael Olise also shone, scoring twice on his Champions League debut, while Raphael Guerreiro, Leroy Sane, and Leon Goretzka contributed to Bayern’s dominant performance.
Despite trailing 3-0 at halftime, Dinamo briefly threatened with goals from Bruno Petkovic and Takuya Ogiwara early in the second half, but Bayern responded by netting six more goals from the 57th minute onwards.
The match showcased the firepower of the German giants, with Kane describing it as “an amazing game” and admitting it was the first time he had scored three penalties in a single match.

Aston Villa, making their first appearance in the modern Champions League, cruised to a 3-0 victory against Swiss champions Young Boys in Bern. Youri Tielemans, Jacob Ramsey, and Amadou Onana were on the scoresheet for Villa, who honored the memory of club legend Gary Shaw.
