Prime Suspect in Custody Over Gruesome Murder of Wells Fargo HR Manager
A breakthrough has been achieved in the chilling case of the late Wells Fargo HR Manager, Willis Ayieko, with the arrest of a prime suspect, Victor Ouma Okoth, who was apprehended in Dandora, Nairobi.
Ayieko’s brutal murder sent shockwaves across Siaya County after his body, marked by severe mutilation, was found dumped in a stream in Gem, Siaya, following his abduction last Friday.
In a daring move captured by CCTV, two men were seen abandoning Ayieko’s Ford Ranger double-cabin at a Sabatia fuel station before nonchalantly taking off on a motorbike.
Authorities believe this footage, along with forensic evidence, has now decisively linked Ouma to the horrific crime. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has revealed that Ouma was placed at the scene through advanced forensic analysis, a key factor that led to his swift arrest.
The investigation, helmed by a specialized team from DCI’s Homicide, CRIB, and Operations units, continues to unravel details of the case. Early findings suggest that Ayieko may have suffered immense torture at the hands of his abductors.
His body bore signs of a gruesome attack, with ears cut off and eyes gouged out, leaving his family and friends devastated. “We are heartbroken by his death. He was a peaceful man with no known enemies,” a family member shared.
Ayieko had last been seen on Friday night, after attending a funeral in Gem. En route to Kakamega for a family gathering, he disappeared, prompting concern among his family when he failed to arrive. The tragic turn of events has left them searching for answers, with the motive behind the murder still shrouded in mystery.
DCI officials are hopeful that this significant arrest will help close in on all those involved and bring justice for Ayieko and his family.
