The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions on Tuesday, October 22, affecting several counties, including Nairobi, Kakamega, Bungoma, and Kitui. These planned outages are part of a nationwide maintenance operation aimed at improving the power grid’s efficiency and reliability.
Residents in these regions should expect blackouts lasting for up to eight hours, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and are urged to make necessary arrangements to minimize the impact on their daily activities.
Areas Affected by the Power Outage
- Nairobi County
- Muthaiga: Utalii Hotel, Mathari Hospital, Muthaiga Golf Hotel, Muthaiga Primary School, Muthaiga Police Residence, Mathari Secondary, Mathari Brilliant Centre Academy, and surrounding areas.
- Zimmerman, Githurai 45: Farmers Choice, Kahawa Barracks, BATUK, and adjacent areas.
- Roysambu: Kamiti Road, Jacaranda Estate, Roysambu Primary School, and neighboring areas.
- Kitui County
- Museve: Kyalilini Booster, Museve Market, Katia, Mutulukuni, Kwa Mukwa, Vinda, Makaani, and surrounding areas.
- Bungoma County
- Sipala, Lwile: Mihuu, Furoi, Mikuuva, Magemo, Mitukuyu, Sinoko Dispensary, Lutacho, Manafwa, Lukusi, Bakisa, Mabele, Lugulu Water, Webuye, Malaha Salvation Army, and adjacent areas.
- Kakamega County
- Butere: Butere Girls, Butere Boys, Buchenya, Elukala, Eshisisia, Shinyalu, Buboko, Ibokolo, and neighboring areas will experience outages from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
