Murder Mystery: Kisii Man Buried in Living Room by Suspicious Villagers
In a rare and chilling incident, residents of Gesabakwa village in Bomachoge Borabu, Kisii County, took matters into their own hands by burying a murder victim inside his own home.
The deceased, Elvis Marube, was found dead in his bedroom last month, having been brutally attacked with a blunt object. The villagers, suspecting foul play, turned their anger towards the victim’s family, accusing them of involvement in the crime and subsequently banishing them from the community.
The burial, which took place inside Marube’s living room, was conducted after a special Abagusii rite performed by the village elders. This traditional ceremony marked Marube’s final resting place, a decision that was not taken lightly. “We decided to settle on his house as his final resting place,” stated Elkana Alex, Marube’s uncle, reflecting the collective sentiment of the village.
The incident has sparked outrage and unrest in the village, leading to a 10-kilometer march by the locals to Kenyenya Police Station. They demanded justice not only for Marube but also for the other ten individuals who have met similar mysterious fates in the area over recent years.
Kenyenya OCPD Gome Sebbe assured the aggrieved residents that a thorough investigation would be conducted to unravel the truth behind these deaths.
