List Of 9 Roads to Be Closed On Sunday
Nairobi, Kenya, Sep 27 – In anticipation of the Jubilee Insurance ‘Live Free’ bike race, nine major roads across Nairobi, including Lang’ata Road, Bunyala Road, and the Southern Bypass, will be closed on Sunday, September 29th.
The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced that these closures will facilitate the Grand Nairobi Bike Race, which is set to attract 2,500 elite cyclists from 21 countries.
KURA Director General Silas Kinoti noted that the closures will extend to Haile Selassie Avenue up to the NHIF building, Uhuru Highway from Haile Selassie Avenue to Nyayo Stadium, and the Madaraka roundabout.
Additionally, Nairobi West to Madaraka roundabout, Masaba Road to Bunyala Road, and the Donbosco roundabout to Hill Park Hotel will be affected.
“This event is expected to bring together cyclists from various parts of the world, including Ethiopia, Eritrea, the USA, France, and countries within the East African Community,” Kinoti stated.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and adhere to the instructions provided by traffic police and marshals.”
The cycling event, which promotes a well-rounded lifestyle, aims to raise awareness about practical steps that individuals and communities can take to embrace freedom and wellness through the sport.
