Justin Muturi: The Real Reason Behind My Attorney General Resignation
Public Service Cabinet Secretary nominee Justin Muturi has revealed his reasons for stepping down from his position as Attorney General.
During a vetting session before parliamentarians on Sunday, August 4, Muturi explained that his resignation was prompted by a period of unrest in the country.
He felt that the most honorable course of action was to resign and allow the President to reorganize the government as necessary.
“It is true that I resigned. There had been some disquiet, and the only honorable thing to do at that point was to take a position through a route provided by law, allowing His Excellency the President the opportunity to reorganize his government as he desired,” said Muturi.
Muturi further promised that if his nomination is approved, he will ensure that civil servants with forged academic documents face severe consequences.
He also pledged to implement a performance management program to hold civil servants accountable for their performance.
