Joho Dispels Drug Trafficking Rumors with Evidence
Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs CS nominee Ali Hassan Joho has decisively addressed allegations of his involvement in drug trafficking.
During his vetting session, Joho responded to a pointed question from Teso South MP Mary Emase, firmly stating that no evidence has ever been found to support these claims.
Joho pointed out that even the late Internal Security Minister George Saitoti had tabled a report in Parliament, which exonerated him from such allegations. “I believe when there is a dossier it is being investigated.
He (Saitoti) came back to Parliament with a report of the investigation and the outcome…it was a multi-agency almost international investigation that clearly stated no iota of evidence was found against me,” he said.
Joho emphasized his legitimate business background, citing his family’s extensive and lawful enterprises. He insisted that had he been involved in illegal activities, he would not have survived previous government regimes.
“Please Kenyans, I do clean business. No evidence was found against me, and the investigation was closed,” he declared. Joho also highlighted that his family’s businesses do not engage with any government entity, focusing instead on logistics in Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Dubai, and Kenya.
