Israeli Airstrike in Southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh Increases Death Toll to 10 – Syrian Nationals Among Victims
The death toll from an Israeli airstrike on a residential house in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh has climbed to 10, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
The victims are reported to be Syrian nationals, with five others injured, two of whom are in critical condition. This comes after the Lebanese Health Ministry initially reported six fatalities and three wounded individuals from the same strike.
The tragic incident is part of the ongoing escalation along the Israeli-Lebanese border, which flared up in the aftermath of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip starting in October 2023.
The conflict has seen almost daily exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters, resulting in significant casualties on both sides.
The humanitarian impact of the conflict is severe, with the Lebanese Foreign Ministry reporting that approximately 100,000 people have been displaced from southern Lebanon due to relentless Israeli shelling.
Meanwhile, Israel has reported that around 80,000 residents of its northern region have also been forced to flee their homes amid the violence.
