Indian Man Shot Dead in Parklands in Targeted Attack
Detectives in Nairobi are currently investigating the chilling death of 36-year-old Sagar Panara, an employee at MART Networks, who was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack on Tuesday evening. The shocking incident took place in the affluent Parklands neighborhood, sending waves of fear and uncertainty throughout the community.
According to police reports, Panara, who is of Asian descent, was returning home from the Aga Khan Sports Club when he was ambushed. The attackers seemed to have followed him as he drove his white Toyota Corolla.
As he reached the entrance of his residential compound, the unknown assailants struck. A brief struggle ensued, and Panara was tragically shot in the neck, just below his right ear, before the attackers fled the scene.
Neighbours, alarmed by the sound of gunshots, rushed to his aid and called the authorities. Panara was immediately transported to Aga Khan Hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing emergency treatment.
Panara’s wife, Nejal Panara, revealed that her husband had just arrived home after spending time at the sports club, making the incident all the more shocking for the family and community.
A chilling discovery at the crime scene has intensified the mystery: six leaflets, seemingly left behind by the attackers, were found scattered around Panara’s vehicle. These ominous notes bore a threatening message: “VACATE NAROK LAND, ONE PANARA DOWN, AND NAROK,” suggesting a potential connection to a land dispute in the Narok region.
Detectives are now exploring whether the Panara family’s possible ties to land in Narok could have been the motive behind this violent attack. The incident has not only rattled the usually serene Parklands neighborhood but has also raised concerns about the potential for further violence linked to land disputes in the region. As the investigation continues, residents are left questioning their safety and hoping for swift justice for Sagar Panara.
