House Girl Disappearance Leads to Arrest of Three Suspects in Ksh. 3M Theft
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have apprehended three individuals in connection with a theft that resulted in the loss of electronic items, Ksh. 3.16 million in cash, and various other valuables.
The suspects, identified as Lenah Khamatioli (28), Ian Kavaya (28), and Peninah Mutola (32), were arrested at their hideout in Kawangware following a weeks-long manhunt.
The incident, which took place on September 24, involved the burglary of a South Sudanese national’s residence in Westlands.
According to DCI, the homeowner returned to her house on Rahpta Road only to find her house girl missing, along with USD 24,500 (Ksh. 3.16 million), an iPhone 15, a Samsung Z Flip, and several pieces of jewelry. The case was reported to DCI offices in Kilimani.
During the raid, the suspects were found in possession of numerous stolen items, including a Boxer motorcycle, a 55-inch Vitron TV, a Hanmac microwave, an HP laptop, an NNix cooker oven, a 6kg Pro gas cylinder, a five-seater sofa, a mattress, two watches, and three brand-new Samsung A50 phones.
Additionally, detectives discovered an agreement for the purchase of a piece of land in Kapkangani, Nandi County, valued at Ksh. 423,000.
The suspects are currently being held in police custody and will remain there pending their arraignment in court.
