Horror ; KCSE Candidate Fatally Stabbed by Fellow Student After Fiery Clash
A sombre atmosphere has engulfed Shiners Boys High School in Nakuru following the tragic death of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate, who was allegedly stabbed by a fellow student during an intense altercation. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 9, according to a statement from Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Winstone Mwakio.
What Sparked the Tragic Clash?
The violent confrontation reportedly erupted shortly after the suspect—a student recently allowed back to school after a suspension due to disciplinary issues—discovered his personal items damaged. Police say this discovery reignited underlying tensions, ultimately leading to the deadly encounter with his fellow candidate.
“The four had been suspended for indiscipline cases,” Commander Mwakio told Citizen Digital, noting that the altercation underscored ongoing concerns over student behavior within the school.
In the aftermath of the stabbing, the alleged perpetrator fled the scene, reportedly taking with him the knife used in the attack. Police have identified three of the students involved in the incident, though the primary suspect remains at large.
Emergency Response Ends in Tragedy
School officials rushed the injured student to Nakuru Level 6 Hospital, but sadly, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. His body has since been taken to Nakuru Morgue, where an autopsy is expected.
This heartbreaking incident is one of several that have cast a shadow over the ongoing KCSE examinations, with student deaths making headlines across the country.
