Gachagua Appeals to Kenyans: “Pray for Ruto to Ease Our Economic Struggles
In a heartfelt appeal during a Sunday service at St. James ACK Cathedral in Kiambu town, impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urged Kenyans to lift President William Ruto in prayer, citing the heavy responsibilities and challenges he faces in navigating Kenya’s economic struggles.
Gachagua emphasized that under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration, many citizens feel the weight of economic hardships, rampant taxation, and declining public services such as healthcare.
“We ask Kenyans to remain peaceful and pray for President William Ruto to navigate the challenges affecting Kenyans. People are feeling helpless because of economic adversities, over-taxation, failing health systems, and the President has a big job to do. We ask prayers for him so God can give him wisdom and the people of Kenya can get some relief,” Gachagua stated
He further highlighted that, despite political differences, a united Kenya holds the strength to overcome these adversities. His remarks come amid growing public frustration and economic strain on households nationwide, with citizens yearning for a solution to the high cost of living. The plea underscores a call for collective spiritual support to aid the country’s leadership in finding solutions to pressing issues, while uniting Kenyans under a shared purpose.
In a recent address in Turkana, President Ruto alluded to the apparent rift between him and Gachagua, suggesting it began when he formed a more inclusive government, which included members from the Raila Odinga-led ODM party. Nonetheless, the call for prayer aims to bridge divides and bring a hopeful outlook to Kenya’s economic future.
