Drama ; As Police Officers Arrested for Slaughtering Reported Missing Cow
In a case of blatant irony, two police officers from Kaptagat Police Station in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County, were arrested for slaughtering a cow reported missing at the very same station.
According to the police report, the suspects, identified as Chrispus Butali and Samwel Mbugua Njuguna, were caught red-handed at the scene of the crime.
The incident came to light after Josphine Kandie, a local resident, reported her cows missing, only to later receive shocking information that one of them had been slaughtered near the station.
Outraged by the revelation, irate members of the public stormed the police station, demanding the immediate transfer of the officers involved, including the Officer Commanding Station (OCS).
Efforts by the police to calm the rowdy crowd fell on deaf ears, as residents barricaded the busy Eldama Ravine-Eldoret road in protest.
By the time of this report, officers were still locked in running battles with locals, as tensions in the area remained high.
