CS Nominee Soipan Tuya’s Net Worth Jumps to Ksh.243M From Ksh.156M in Less Than Two Years
In a significant revelation on Thursday, Defence Cabinet Secretary nominee Soipan Tuya disclosed her current net worth while appearing before the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments for vetting.
Tuya reported a substantial increase in her net worth, now standing at Ksh.243 million, up from Ksh.156 million in October 2022 during her vetting for the Environment CS position.
Tuya attributed this notable growth to the appreciation of her assets over the past 21 months. “It is largely from the appreciation of assets, private business, and one asset acquired within Nairobi,” she explained to the Speaker Moses Wetangula-led committee.
Back in 2022, Tuya informed the committee that her wealth included three homes located in Nairobi, Narok, and her village. Additionally, her portfolio comprised motor vehicles, apartments, plots of land, and a dairy business.
Having served two terms as Narok Women Rep, Tuya is among six former Cabinet Secretaries poised for a comeback in President William Ruto’s newly formed Cabinet. This reshuffle follows the dismissal of the entire previous Cabinet by the President on July 11, as part of his strategy to establish a broad-based government.
The other returning Cabinet Secretaries include Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Alice Wahome (Lands), Aden Duale (Environment), Rebecca Miano (Trade), and Davis Chirchir (Transport).
