Cleophas Malala’s Son and Brother-in-Law Abducted, Tortured

In a shocking revelation, former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala has claimed that members of his family were abducted by unknown assailants on Monday night. Speaking out on Tuesday, the former Kakamega Senator disclosed that his son and 19-year-old brother-in-law were taken at gunpoint and subjected to six hours of intense torture.

Malala explained that the abductors were trying to force information about his whereabouts, and that of his wife, from the pair.

He revealed that after failing to get the information they wanted, the kidnappers released the two victims along Thika Road, leaving them traumatized and shaken. “They were tortured for six hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence in Kitengela,” Malala recounted.

This harrowing incident took place just days after Malala had named two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Homa Bay town legislator Peter Kaluma, whom he accused of being part of a plot to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During a church service in Thika, Kiambu County, Malala issued a stern warning to President Ruto, suggesting that any move against his deputy could eventually lead to his own downfall in the 2027 elections. “I have been informed that the MPs being fronted to table the impeachment motion against Gachagua are Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma. I’m telling you, Mr President, those MPs will start by impeaching Gachagua, and then they will turn against you in 2027,” Malala warned.

Supporting Malala’s claims, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba echoed the warnings, alleging that a motion to impeach the Deputy President was already in the works. “There are some elements that wake up every day with a plot on how to ensure you (Rigathi Gachagua) don’t succeed,” Wamuchomba stated. She added that these individuals have aligned themselves with ODM leaders to bring the impeachment motion against Gachagua in the coming week.

Malala’s shocking claims of his family’s abduction add a dramatic twist to the ongoing political tensions, leaving many to wonder what will come next in this unfolding saga.
