Check List of 26 Agencies Banned from Recruiting Kenyans for Foreign Jobs
In a significant crackdown on rogue recruitment agencies, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has unveiled a list of 26 companies that are no longer authorized to operate in Kenya.
These agencies, blacklisted by the National Employment Authority (NEA), have been accused of defrauding Kenyans with promises of overseas jobs that never materialized.
While appearing before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Protection, Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua condemned the actions of one of the prominent firms, First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency Limited, which was at the center of a major scam.
Despite being deregistered and blacklisted, First Choice, led by Judy Jepchirchir and Faith Wariga Gichuhi, continued to operate illegally, leaving over 1,000 Kenyans stranded after paying for non-existent jobs.
“I strongly condemn First Choice and other rogue agencies for exploiting vulnerable Kenyans. We will not allow any agency to operate unlawfully, and the directors involved must face justice,” said CS Mutua.
The Ministry’s list includes a number of well-known firms such as Gulfway Recruitment Company Ltd, Royal Capital Placement Ltd, and Geoverah Africa Safaris Ltd, among others. Kenyans are urged to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of recruitment firms through the National Employment Agency’s website.
