Car Dealer Khalif Kairo Arrested for Allegedly Failing to Deliver Purchased Vehicle
Joseph Kairo Wambui, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, has been arrested once more on accusations of defrauding a client.
According to reports, Kairo allegedly failed to deliver a vehicle despite receiving full payment from the complainant.
Videos circulating online show Kairo being detained at Capitol Hill Police Station on Saturday. In the footage, a visibly frustrated Kairo can be heard pleading with officers to avoid harassment.
“Si vita, you are not going to harass me, you can’t harass me bana! You wait I sort things out,” Kairo says in the video.
The situation escalates in another clip, with one officer warning: “…Wacha ujinga bwana! Do you think you are the first person to come here? Unaona niko na clients pale kwa ofisi…sitakuruhusu ulete ujinga hapa. Sisi tunapiga watu. Tutakupiga hapa saa hii tu!“
Authorities arrested Kairo after he reportedly failed to convince the complainant that he was traveling to New York to secure funds and resolve the dispute.
This marks Kairo’s second arrest in recent months. On December 3, 2024, he was apprehended at a car yard in Ridgeways over similar allegations of failing to deliver a high-end vehicle. He was later grilled at Kasarani Police Station.
The businessman, who also doubles as a social media influencer, has faced mounting scrutiny over his dealings in the car trade industry.
