4 Counties Which Will Encounter Power Blackouts Today
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power disruptions across various counties on Sunday, October 27.
These planned outages, part of ongoing maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, will affect parts of Nairobi, Kajiado, Kisumu, and Kiambu counties, with some areas facing power interruptions lasting up to nine hours. Here’s a breakdown of the areas to be impacted:
Affected Areas and Timings
- Nairobi (Parklands Area)
- Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Affected Areas: Diagnostic Centre, Ojijo Road, Mogotio Road, Parklands Road, Hospital Hill, Muthithi Road, Visa Oshwal, Aga Khan Health Centre, and nearby customers.
- Kisumu
- Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Affected Areas: Obambo, Holo, Asat, Kolenyo, Kombewa, Akado, Riat, Bonde, and surrounding customers.
- Kiambu County
- Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Affected Areas: Kamiti Ridge, Lucura, Kenflora, Ruturo, Kamwaki, Marion Schools, Kiguta Farm, Kenton Hotels, St. Antony School, Fig Tree, parts of Gatamaiyo Village, Wookcreek School, Rose Flower Estate, Kahawa Law Court, parts of Kamiti Prisons, Mugumo Estate, Shooting Range, Kiu Kenda, parts of Kiamumbi, Kirigiti, Kiu River School, Riabai Market, Mboi Kamiti, Kiaora Estate, Migaa, Lioki, Kifisia Estate, Kianjibi Estate, Nyara Estate, Karia Village, Kiambu High School, Kirima Farm, Muthithi Estate, Gallot, Starehe Girls, Silver Garden Estate, Limoro Estate, Ngomongo Village, KIST College, Edenville, Mushrooms, Thindigua Estate, Laurate School, and adjacent customers.

- Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Affected Areas: Kibiko Kimuka, Saikeri, Kimuka Olosoibor, Olemaroroibaboon Crescent, Suswa Road, Kajiado West Polytechnic, Ololua, DC, Imani, Primate Research, Tamfeeds, Gataka Social Centre, Ololua Ridge, Citam, Bondeni Masai Road, Lekurruki, Kahara, Ngong Town, Zambia, Olepolos, Kanagawa, Juanco, Bulbul, Jogoo Road, Kerarapon, Ngong Hills, DCA Repeaters, and adjacent customers.
KPLC has advised residents in the affected areas to prepare for the interruptions, store necessary resources, and ensure safety measures are in place until power is fully restored.
