3 Perish, Dozens Hurt in Early Morning Bus Accident
Tragedy struck early Saturday morning along the Londiani-Kisumu road when a bus accident claimed the lives of three passengers and left 41 others injured.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. when the driver of a bus, popularly known as “Dreamliner,” lost control while negotiating a bend. The Bus Accidentplunging into a ditch on the left side.
Police confirmed that two adults and a child were among the deceased, while the injured were rushed to Londiani Sub-County Hospital for urgent medical attention. The victims sustained multiple injuries, according to witnesses and law enforcement.
Traffic police responded to the scene and detained the driver for questioning. Preliminary reports indicate that the loss of control was a key factor in the crash.
Kenya continues to grapple with an alarming increase in road fatalities. Official statistics reveal that over 4,000 lives have been lost this year, with thousands more injured. Authorities and stakeholders have been running campaigns to curb this trend, but challenges persist.
